End of the Year Giving:

The effective date of a contribution is when it is delivered to the Church. A check deposited in the offering in January of 2011 cannot be deducted in 2010, even if it is backdated to 2010. Checks that are mailed to the Church and postmarked by December 31, 2010 are deductible in 2010 even though not received by the Church until 2011.

The IRS advises that you not file your 2010 federal income tax return before you receive your contribution statement from the Church. Contribution statements for 2010 will be available online in early January

Registering for the first time

For security purposes, first time registered users will not be able to view their contribution history until 1 – 2 business days after registration. However, users will be able to give immediately.

Newsong One Online Giving FAQ’s:

How do I know if I have already created a Newsong User ID?
Since May 2008, if you registered at Newsong’s website for an event, conference, or retreat, then you have probably created a User ID.

What if I forgot my User ID and/or Password?
At the login page, click on the Account Help button and follow the instructions.

How can I split my donation among multiple funds?
Currently, this system can only handle donations to one fund at a time.  After completing the first donation, you can choose to give to another fund.  If you plan to give on a regular basis, it is advised to set-up recurring transactions so you won’t have to enter information multiple times.
